Blackheads vs Whiteheads

Do you know the difference between a blackhead or whitehead or are they all the same, annoying pimples? On the blog today, I want to quickly tell you about the two types of pimples, known as comedones.

Blackheads are formed in a clogged follicle (known to most as a pore) that is open and appears dark.

Whiteheads are formed in a clogged follicle (known to most as a pore) but the pore is closed appears white or flesh colored.

Don’t pop either because you can cause scarring, infection and worsening an infection that may already be present. See an esthetician for help with this task. I am not kidding here, improperly removing a black head and whitehead and can have disastrous results.

Another tip, stay consistent with your skin care routine. Consistency with quality skin care products can reduce the pop up of blackheads, whiteheads and other types of comedones.

Now, you’re probably thinking why did I bring all this up. I want to educate you, my lovely beauties. If you know what skin issues you have, together we can work together to resolve them. Until next time. Bye My Loves!
