Have you wondered whether or not you should use a salt scrub or a sugar scrub? Wait let’s back up a minute. Do you use a scrub? I hope the answer is yes. You should be using a scrub of some type on your skin at least once a week. Why? Because using a scrub helps the skin exfoliate the dead top layers of the skin. A scrub helps keep your skin soft and glowing.
Today, I want to share with you the main differences between a sugar and a salt scrub. I will also share a few tips on when to use both types of a scrub.
Salt Scrubs tend to have larger particles. Sugar scrubs have small particles and can be less drying and less abrasive. Sugar is recommended for both sensitive and dry areas.
On the body – use a salt scrub
On the décolleté – use a sugar scrub
On the face – use a sugar scrub
On the feet and elbows – use a salt scrub
Do not use a scrub daily instead use a scrub as needed. Personally, I use a scrub every 2-3 days. Always use the right tools and be gentle. Most importantly, know when to stop. You can over exfoliate the skin which can cause severe damage to the skin. Lastly, follow up with moisturizer.
